Yellowstone National Park
The world’s first national park, Yellowstone is located in three states: Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. Paradise Gateway is located near the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park (which is open year round, unlike other entrances). Yellowstone is a treasure that inspires awe in travelers from around the globe. Although Iceland and New Zealand are known for their geysers, nowhere in the world are there as many active ones as in Yellowstone.
Yellowstone National Park has the highest concentration of large and small mammals in the lower 48 states, including the American bison, elk, grizzly and black bears, coyotes, wolves, bighorn sheep, mule deer, pronghorns, squirrels and marmots. Bird species include osprey, pelican, trumpeter swans, green-wing teal and the Western bluebird. In addition, Yellowstone is the home to 11 species of fish, five species of reptiles and four species of amphibians. Explore Yellowstone by roadside or the 1,000 miles of trails through the back country. The Park boasts a variety of vegetation types, from near-desert to subalpine meadows and forests. Wildflowers are breathtaking.
Paradise Gateway is the ideal entry to this wonder of the natural world.
We offer guided fly fishing packages, on world-renowned rivers, lakes, and private lakes and spring creeks in southwest Montana and in renowned Yellowstone National Park, including some of the best Upper Yellowstone River fishing literally steps from your door. Our one, three and five day packages expose you to a variety of different waters…we put you on water where the trout are feeding and active. Our lodging is exclusive, modern, and private…allowing couples to have a private residence, or groups of four to six to share a private home. We cater to groups of four, singles, and even groups of up to twenty-four. No one in Paradise Valley has our flexibility, deluxe accommodations, and affordable pricing.
Your dining options are flexible. Be pampered with our private chef. Or, save money for flies and cook for yourself; there is a grocery store only five miles away. Or, have us stock your fridge prior to arriving.Best Times to Fish
Most fishing trips are scheduled between April and early November. Mid-June through September is what most anglers consider “prime time.” But for what most of locals consider even better fishing, and more solitude, try late March through early May or October and early November, which you can combine with an upland bird or big game hunting trip.PACKAGE TRIP RATES

We are very pleased to have Matson Rogers of Angler’s West as our Director of Fishing Operations and the official Montana Outfitter of Rivers Bend Lodge. Matson is one of the premiere guides in Montana, and shares my passion for fly fishing and bird hunting, and, most importantly, raising our children in the outdoors. Matson and I pride ourselves in bringing you the best guides in the Upper Yellowstone Basin, and we personally spend as many days on the river with our guests as possible.
Because we have our own fly-shop within 3 miles of Rivers Bend Lodge, you will always have access to gear and flies. We encourage you to visit our online shop prior to your trip, but we also encourage you to simply visit our shop when you arrive so you can pick up any flies or equipment that matches what is happening on the river at that particular time.COMMISSIONED PAINTING OF YOUR FISH BY A.D. MADDOX
We are privileged to have A.D. Maddox as our “honorary artist” at Rivers Bend Lodge. Amelia’s art will inspire you to get back on the river. And her spirit will challenge you to live the life you want to live. An avid fly fisherwoman, she has translated a passion for the beauty of trout and the poetry of fly-fishing into her art. With materials such as acrylics, oils, gel medium, canvas, wood, and metal, she fashions paintings, furniture and a variety of functional objects in her energetic and unique style using carving and bold painting techniques.
Amelia’s art is featured at the lodge and we have an exclusive relationship with her to paint an original of your prize catch in Paradise Valley or Yellowstone National Park.
And make sure you download a cellphone screensaver of her work here, to remind you of those special days on the water.
