Montana Fly fishing is legendary, drawing fishermen from all over the world to its pristine waters. Battle trophy-sized wild rainbow trout on the Yellowstone River, or bask in the solitude of Montana’s high mountain lakes. Whatever your perfect day of fly fishing looks like, Montana provides incomparable fishing opportunities.

We offer guided fly fishing packages on these world-renowned rivers and lakes, including areas in southwest Montana and in the renowned Yellowstone National Park, which is home to 3 native sport fish, 5 non-native species, 220+ lakes, and 1,000+ streams. When you stay at theParadise Gateway Bed and Breakfast & Vacation Homes, some of the best Montana Fly fishing on the upper Yellowstone river is found just steps outside your door.

Experience Montana Fly fishing

With such an abundance of Montana fly fishing to chose from, it can be difficult to choose where to start. Unlike many other western states, Montana manages most of its rivers to maintain wild trout, which means that hatchery born fish are not introduced into these waters. The longest river in Montana, the Yellowstone River, is also home to some of the premier trout fishing waters in the United States.

In the upper river where our bed and breakfast and vacation homes are found, you’ll find cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, brook trout, large whitefish, and brown trout. If you head below Billings to the southern half of the river, the warmer waters found there are home to large walleye, catfish, and sturgeon. Although a wildly popular fly fishing river, the lengthy Yellowstone River also has many access points, which helps to thin the crowd of anglers, giving you great fishing opportunities. If the fishing isn’t enough to get you out onto this river, then the scenery certainly will be. Near our Paradise Gateway Bed and Breakfast, the river flows though the scenic Paradise Valley, and is flanked by the Absaroka Mountains.

To help you make the most of your Montana Fly fishing experiences, we have teamed up with local guides to offer you one, three, and five day packages. Matson Rogers of Angler’s West serves as our Director of Fishing Operations, and is the official Montana Outfitter of Rivers Bend Lodge. Matson is one of Montana’s premier fishing guides, and we are thrilled to have him with us. Under his expertise, we fish the Yellowstone, Boulder, Stillwater, Gallatin, Madison, and Missouri rivers, doing what we can to put you right in the middle of the best fishing action. In addition to that, we fish a variety of private waters, including Depuy’s Spring Creek, Armtrong’s Spring Creek, Nelson’s Spring Creek, Milesnick Ranch, and over 20 additional unnamed miles of water. The best times to fish are from April through early November, with Mid-June through September considered prime fishing season. We look forward to providing you a comfortable home away from home while you jump into your Montana Fly fishing excursions.
